Lance Gidel founded Gidel & Kocal Construction Company alongside John Kocal in November of 1980 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Lance Gidel and John Kocal grew their business from commercial tenant improvement projects to providing ground-up construction for a range of national and international companies. Today, the professional team has expanded, but the commitment to excellence and integrity remain the same.
John Kocal retired in November of 2011 at which time, Lance Gidel took over the entire business. Alyssa Pedersen, Lance’s eldest daughter, started working with Gidel & Kocal Construction in 1999 as an accounts payable assistant while attending college. Ashley Gidel, Lance’s youngest daughter, started working at Gidel & Kocal full time in 2015 as a Project Engineer. In 2018, she became a Project Manager, running projects from the initial bidding to the final punch list.

Today, both Alyssa and Ashley provide a wide range of invaluable services for Gidel & Kocal. Alyssa is responsible for accounts receivable, human resources as well as handling all financial aspects of the business. Ashley is continuing to work as a Project Manager while also overseeing all other project managers, company marketing and overall company management.
In 2021, Ashley took the title of President and Alyssa took the title of CFO. Lance remains active in the day-to-day management of the company, working closely alongside Alyssa and Ashley. They always go the extra mile to see that all jobs are completed the Gidel & Kocal way, the only way. They have set a standard that they live and work by which has enabled them to grow over the years.
